International Program Office
The International Program Office (IPO) of the World Data System (WDS) acts under the leadership of the WDS Executive Director with guidance from the Scientific Committee. The IPO has the task of coordinating the operations of WDS and is responsible for implementing the decisions of the Scientific Committee, as well as performing day-to-day tasks. It is also responsible for organizing the twice-yearly face-to-face meetings of the Scientific Committee, the biennial WDS Conference (SciDataCon), the WDS Members' Forum, and outreach and promotional activities. The IPO is based in Knoxville, Tennessee, United States of America, hosted and financially supported by the University of Tennessee Oak Ridge Innovation Institute as of 31 March 2021.
Meredith P. Goins
In November, Meredith P. Goins joined the World Data System – International Program Office. Meredith previously worked as a Group Manager over Research Services at Oak Ridge Associated Universities. She and her team identified subject matter experts in over 50 disciplines to serve as grant peer reviewers for state, federal, and international funding agencies and governments.
Meredith is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Information Sciences, focusing on scholarly communications, particularly peer review. She earned her Master's in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a bachelor's degree in Communications from East Carolina University.
