Arona Diedhiou Steps Down from WDS-SC

It is with great regret that we announce the resignation of Arona Diedhiou from the WDS Scientific Committee (WDS-SC) 2018–2021 owing to health reasons. Arona was also part of the previous Scientific Committee for 2015–2018.

The WDS-SC, and the WDS International Programme and Technology Offices, would like to sincerely thank Arona for wonderful work he has done over the past four years in raising the profile of WDS in Africa. In particular, Arona almost single-handedly organized the WDS-hosted ‘Data Initiatives in Africa – Opportunities and Challenges for Research and Sustainable Development’ that took place on 12–13 April 2017 in Grenoble.

We look forward to continuing to work with Arona through various endeavours such as the upcoming ‘Colloque Science Ouverte au Sud’.
