Open Positions within NASA ESDIS Project
Several positions have opened/will open to serve on the NASA Earth Science Data and Information System Project (NASA ESDIS Project; WDS Network Member). These positions are located at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).
1. System architect for ESDIS at GSFC (Closes: 1 September)
This person will be responsible for providing the information architecture vision of the Earth Observing System Data and Information System for the further, conceiving, and directing ongoing evolutionary development by leveraging current technology.
2. Early career civil servant to work for ESDIS at GSFC (Opens: 2 September; Closes: 8 September)
This position is to participate in science data systems operations, lead development and operations at archive and processing centers, and review data and metadata management and activities.
3. Civil servant to work for ESDIS at GSFC (Opens: 2 September; Closes: 8 September)
This position is to serve as Deputy Science Operations Office manager, managing operations and developments at the NASA Distributed Active Archive Centers, system engineering, financial planning, report/metrics activities, development activities, and so on.
4. Two early career civil servants to work for ESDIS at GSFC (Opens: 2 September; Closes: 8 September)
The positions cover work for IT-Security person: Works on ESDIS Security system development, software tools, and security plans; and cloud development computer engineer including works on Earthdata cloud development, configuration control, and AWS tools.
