Certifying Trusted Repositories: Sharing with and Learning from RDA - Australia’s Approach to the Challenge
Concept
Organised by ARDC, and the Australian Trusted Data Repository (TDR) Community, this event is a two hour event for the Australian Trusted Data Repository community to (1) meet in person, and (2) to exchange and learn from the international community, including CoreTrustSeal management, which arose from the Repository Audit and Certification DSA–WDS Partnership WG under the Research Data Alliance.
The session will (1) engage the Australian community around current trusted data certification activity, (2) make the most of international experts travelling to Australia for the RDA plenary and (3) where appropriate induct interested attendees who are new to the community into the activity and approaches of the Australian community. See one page introduction to the Australian Community at: tiny.cc/IntroTDR-AU.
Background
Since early 2019, ARDC is coordinating Australian Trusted Data repository (TDR) community to bring greater collaboration in the certification processes and learn from the experiences of different organisations. Representatives from more than 20 organisations meet monthly virtually and in person at the annual eResearch conference (abstract linked) in Oct 2019. A public community home has recorded participation and activity.
The Plenary provides an excellent opportunity for the Australian TDR community to meet in person, and to engage with the international community around the CoreTrustSeal certification process, issues and personnel.
Who should attend
Australian Trusted Data Repository community, International members of RDA Certification IG plus others who have an interest in building world class trusted research repositories to advance research that is FAIR and trusted.
WDS Acting Executive Director, Rorie Edmunds, will join this event remotely and will speak about CoreTrustSeal certification.
