WDC Meteorology Obninsk is affiliated and hosted by Russian Research Institute for Hydrometeorological Information –World Data Center (hereinafter RIHMI-WDC). The WEB site of RIHMI-WDC is: www.meteo.ru RIHMI-WDC is a multidisciplinary research institute under Russian Federal Service on Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (Roshydromet) (www.meteorf.ru). The mission to RIHMI-WDC to keep the data collection preserved and to perform data stewardship, is directly outlined in RIHMI-WDC Statute Document. (Attachment 1). Also, in the same document and in several other documents, the mission to host WDC is outlined. Thus, the same mission is of the WDC Meteorology Obninsk. The main fields of data stewardship, among other, are the collection, preservation, archiving, customer support by data and data products on surface meteorology and upper-air meteorology.
