A methodology of peer-review of datasets for data papers published with Digital Object Identifiers (DoIs) to link data repositories and journals is practised at the Global Change Research Data Publishing and Repository, China (GCdataPR). All datasets are fully and openly accessible through the GCdataPR website. Thirty-six datasets and data papers were published in the Acta Geographica Sinica in 2014 (Supplementary Vol.), including datasets donated to UN, with the CODATA Task Group of PASTD, China National Earth System Data Sharing Platform, JKUAT-Kenya and Digital LIN Chao Geomuseum (Joint Program of IGU-CODATA-GSC) as co-sponsors. An international editorial board has now been established, and bi-monthly issues of the data journal will be published regularly from 2015 and beyond. GCdataPR is also assigned to be the research data publishing centre of China-GEOSS.
