Data Centre for Geography, Moscow

In the Center of the World Geographic Data System, the development of a system of indices of social, economic and environmental components of sustainable development is planned as the nearest cases. The site will show both the final calculated values and the initial indicators. Algorithms for their calculation will be described and the analysis of changes in the rating values for a number of years will be carried out. In addition, the public health characteristics of the countries of the world and regions of Russia, India and Brazil will be reflected. The approach will be characterized and the results of the calculation of the human development index for a number of years will be given. The practice of posting on the Center's website data on some thematic subjects, such as the characterization of ethnic aspects of Russian regions, will be continued. On the website, all collections of Russian parts of InterCarto will be publicly available, beginning in 1994. The materials of the new Eurasian journal of Digital Earth will also be regularly uploaded. World Data Center for Geography was established in 2011 in the framework of the interdisciplinary structure – world data systems – to ensure gathering, processing and conversion of data and to solve fundamental and applied problems in the sphere of geographical sciences. World Data Systems functions under the sponsorship of the International Council for Science – ICSU since 1956 (until 2008 in the form of two structures - World Data Centers and the Federation of Astronomical and Geophysical Data Analysis Services).
