Centre de Données astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS)

The CDS is an astronomy reference data centre that is hosted by the Observatoire astronomique de Strasbourg, and is labelled as  “Infrastructure de Recherche” by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The CDS plays a unique and essential role in astronomy by adding value to published and reference data. The CDS develops services that are widely used by the international astronomical community: SIMBAD, the reference database for the nomenclature and bibliography of astronomical objects (outside the solar system), VizieR, the reference service for astronomical catalogues and tables published in academic journals, the Aladin interactive sky atlas and VO portal, and the CDS X-Match large astronomical catalogue cross-correlation service.
